The 16 weeks of paid leave includes maternity leave, paternity leave, elder care and aid for partners or family members. A spokesperson from the company when speaking to the Wall Street Journal explained that the new policy is just the company’s way of realizing that care-giving shouldn’t be limited to just new parents.

While companies in the West have realized the importance of keeping their employees happy, Indian companies are still to follow suit. The policy of workplace retaliation can add up to an employee’s experience contributing as a big motivator and making him give in everything to his job.
