Mood Indigo’s Bloody Serious Social Cause
IIT Bombay’s Mood Indigo (MI) launched its Mascot MI-ow (pronounced meow), a panther. Their aim is to ensure that panthers too acquire their sustainable environment, owing to the numeorus attacks on them. Another commendable campaign of theirs is FlauntRed to create awareness about thalassemia. Thalassemia is a terminal disorder which requires the patient to undergo blood transfusion every month. MI took its first step by organising a free thalassemia testing at their campus for all, where 1468 people were tested. The testing will be conducted in major colleges of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai in the month of December. MI has taken a move to help the aam aadmi. They have drafted a three-page long bill which suggests making thalassemia testing compulsory before marriage to prevent the child from having thalassemia.
MMS Speaks Music to Inculcate Peace
The young energetic lads of SMT. MMK College of Commerce And Economics have their festical Lakshya – meaning aim – earmarked from 9-11 January. They have taken a step towards reshaping the world of tomorrow in the field of marketing, social practice and even finance. As music is a universal language comprehended and cherished by all across boundaries, they have chosen this element of harmony to inculcate peace and ensure a pleasant future. With recessionary trends and negative global environmental impacts looming, they feel that it is the responsibility of their generation to act in a highly responsible manner and take steps for improving the current scenarios. Having their aim staunchly in place, they say, “Lakshya – a vision, is one which either painfully fades away or one which becomes clearer as you make progress towards it. Our festival is a vision. This is what holds the key. And guess what, it’s getting clearer.” Music does have the power to connect, and what more does one want when the connections are made with the aim of betterment for the world.
