1- Vikrant Massey: Vikrant Massey announced his retirement on December 1st by sharing a post on Instagram “It’s time to recalibrate, return home, and focus on life outside of acting,” he wrote. Vikrant has two final films slated for release in 2025, which he called his “last hurrah” before stepping away for good. While he didn’t detail the reasons for his retirement, fans suspect burnout and a desire for a more private life might have played a role. His decision left fans wondering what could have been if this talented actor had stayed in the game longer”.
The actor, recognised for his versatility and captivating performances in 12th Fail, Sector 36, The Sabarmati Report, made the unexpected decision at a time when he has been experiencing back-to-back hits. He previously acted in daily soaps like Balika Vadhu and Qubool Hai, he also received the Personality of the Year award at India’s 55th International Film Festival (IFFI), which concluded recently. He decided to quit at the age of 37 and wished to spend more time with his family. Along with him, more actors left the industry for personal or any other reasons.
2- Imran Khan: Imran Khan is one of the fine actors who made our teenage more fun and loving we might have spotted him in Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. Imran’s charm and effortless acting made him a favourite, especially in romantic comedies like I Hate Luv Storys and Delhi Belly. By 2015, Imran quietly slipped away from the industry. She prioritises her personal life and family and steps away from the limelight. Asin gave performances that would be remembered for years. From 2001 to 2015, the actress appeared in several blockbusters, including Ghajini, Ready, Housefull 2, Bol Bachchan, Khiladi 786 and All Is Well. Reportedly, Asin left acting just before her marriage to focus on her family, which includes her husband Rahul Sharma and daughter Arin.
4- Zaira Wasim: After starring in 3 successful movies – Dangal, Secret Superstar and The Sky Is Pink – she just disappeared from the industry in 2019, cited acting has been interfering with her faith and led her away from her religious beliefs and she is currently active in a number of social and philanthropic endeavours.
5- Twinkle Khanna: Akshay Kumar’s wife and daughter of Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia’s Twinkle left the acting industry in 2001, citing a lack of enjoyment. She found solace in writing and interior designing and thus took these two professions forward. She found an alternate career in writing and interior design and now she is not only an actor but a brilliant writer too.
