PM Narendra Modi addressed a Governors’ Conference regarding National Education Policy (NEP). He said the government would not play a huge role in shaping NEP. As it “belongs to everyone”. He further added, “As foreign policy (or) defense policy are of the country, not the government, so is education policy.”
IIT-Kharagpur to remain shut till Sept 13 to contain the spread of virus
Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur has chosen to be closed for a week. The campus will remain shut from September 6 to 13 because of the spread of COVID cases on Campus. The decision was made after many staff members at BC Roy Technology Hospital were tested COVID positive.

Chidambaram calls SBI’s Retirement Scheme ‘Cruel’
P Chidambaram, the Congress leader, has claimed that the State Bank of India’s (SBI) plan to implement a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) at a time when the economy is negatively impacted due to the pandemic. He chose to describe it as “cruel”. He has stated that even under normal circumstances the plan would be debatable. Under the VRS scheme, 30 thousand SBI employees are eligible.

The former Reserve Bank of India governor Raghuram Rajan has said that our GDP data should “alarm” everyone. A post on his LinkedIn page mentioned how the GDP contraction of 23.9% will be worse if the informal section is accounted for in it. He further added India is far worse in the situation than the most severely hit in the pandemic – U.S.A. and Italy.

This is done by projecting light onto the user’s eye and tracking the reflection. It then studies the light projected and the light reflected to come to conclusions on how to track the eye.
