Choosing A Color Scheme
Do you want it to be Black & White? Or Vintage ? Whichever it is, stick to it. If you want to change color schemes, do it subtly and don’t change drastic colors. As an example maybe from a white scheme change to a light or baby blue one, or maybe gray or light yellow. If you need some help choosing a color scheme you can find many websites that can guide you, but I recommend Planoly Blog.
Mix It Up
Once you’ve chosen your color scheme, make sure to take pictures with at least a little bit of the color, preferably in the background. You should also make sure that whatever you’re posting is a mix of everything. It’s shouldn’t be only selfies or quotes, but a mix.
Editing
Editing your pictures is very important, you need to edit all of them in a manner that they all look like the same. The same tone, same filter (or no filter) brightness should be the same too. If it’s a warm feed, make the temperature more and if a cold feed lessen the temperature. To edit your pictures you can use multiple apps. One of the most popular one is VSCO, which lets you view your pictures up in the Instagram form to see how it’ll look.
The other editing apps are
- Later
- ColorStory
- Litely
- Snapseed
- Layout
- And Whitagram (to get white borders on your pictures)
Keep Your Instagram Feed In Order
Pictures should be evenly spaced out and together they should look aesthetic and pretty. Make sure you have a variety of pictures. You have to be very selective when it comes to posting pictures. You can’t post a busy picture in a minimalistic feed as it would look extremely out of place.
Inspiration and Time
If you really want a good feed, you need inspiration and time. You need to set aside time to really plan out which pictures will be posted when, in what order and how (the editing). Most famous aesthetic accounts take a week to shoot and edit pictures before putting them up. If you can dedicate that much time for your Instagram feed, then by all means go ahead.
For inspiration I’m writing down a bunch of accounts with amazing feeds, do take a look at them –
