Remya Jose is no ordinary 14 year old girl. She built a manual powered washing machine when she was preparing for her Grade 10 boards, an invention that solved the family’s troubles and won her a National Award.
The story begins with her parents not keeping in the best of health, her father is a cancer patient.
Against this backdrop she and her sister had to shoulder the responsibility of the household chores. The chores proved to be mentally and physically excruciating, leading to a product that could solve a grueling problem – wash clothes efficiently, quickly and cheaply .This family in dire straits could not afford a washing machine but Remya wasn’t quick to give up, she went on to build her own washing machine that can wash clothes without electricity and can also help you exercise!
