The Guwahati Half Marathon 2025 is scheduled for April 13, 2025, marking its 15th edition. Organized by Techniche, the annual techno-management festival of IIT Guwahati, this event has become a significant fixture in Northeast India’s sporting calendar.
This year’s theme, “Run for a Healthier Society,” highlights the importance of overall well-being—physical, mental, and social. The marathon aims to motivate participants to adopt healthier lifestyles while promoting community cohesion and awareness.
Since its inception in 2009, the Guwahati Half Marathon has consistently supported various social causes through its annual themes. Previous themes have included “Run for a Greener Tomorrow,” “Run for Zero Hunger,” and “Run for Clean and Safe Drinking Water.” Each year, the event reflects Techniche’s commitment to raising awareness and inspiring action through collective participation.
The marathon offers two main race categories:
- Glory Run (21 km): Designed for experienced runners seeking a challenge.
- Joy Run (6 km): Open to all, encouraging participation from individuals of all fitness levels.
Both races will start from the Karambir Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Stadium, Sarusajai, with the event commencing at 3:30 AM. Participants can expect well-organized routes equipped with hydration stations, medical support, enthusiastic volunteer cheer squads, and music to maintain high energy levels throughout the run.
Registration for the marathon is currently open. Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their spots promptly, as slots are limited. To register and for more details, visit the official registration page at MeraEvents.
