The official day of love is just around the corner. Couples have already begun to fill each other’s hearts with love and romance. Valentine’s Day is a perfect occasion for people in love, to confess their feelings to each other, exchange gifts, go out on dates, as well as propose to their special someone for marriage. While Valentine’s day is all about getting lovey-dovey and romantic, it is also equally a day for singles to celebrate self-love and for most, their choice of being single.

Singles feeling sad on Valentine’s day is too cliched and overrated. They are actually people who can have a blast on this day which sadly even couples can’t. How? Check it out

Take complete advantage of the ‘Singles Discount’

A lot of restaurants and brands offer a singles discount on their products and service to all the singles. Do not miss out on this opportunity and take complete advantage of this. Yes! these  are the perks of being single.

Hang out with your single friends

Only singles will understand each other on this day. So it’s best to hang out with them. Go to the movies or shop together and count the advantages of being single together.

Go out on a date

Yes, you read that right. Go out on a date. Ask your best friend out on a romantic date just for that one day. Make it romantic over sipping on some wine and expressing how much their friendship means to you and how lucky you are to have them. Even better, you can do all this by meeting at places/restaurants you both love.

Go for a stand-up comedy show

What better day for a stand-up comedy show than Valentine’s day? It’s pretty obvious that the sets written by the comedians will revolve around Valentine’s day. This is your chance to have a good laugh about everything you have always found ridiculous about couples and dating in general.

Throw a house party

It’s hard for people to say no to a good house party. You can choose your own theme, decide on a delicious menu and think of some fun games to play. You can keep the party open to all, friends, relatives, cousins and even couples who might not have any special plans for the day. After all, Valentine’s day is all about celebrating all kinds of love.

Treat it like a normal day

Just like we don’t really need a specific day to celebrate love, it’s okay to not make a big deal out of this day. You can treat it like a normal day and go about your daily routine.

Being single is just as normal and okay as dating. One need not feel sad about it and indulge in self-pity. This Valentine’s day, embrace your singlehood and own it by trying out the ideas we mentioned earlier.
