When it comes to building houses, a Civil Engineer plays a key role in the process of its construction. We tell you more about how essential the involvement of a civil engineer is in construction
When we picture a beautiful house, we think about an excellent interior design, with massive halls, an exquisite swimming pool and a magnificent library among other things, don’t we? And the person behind this larger-than-life dream is none other than a Civil Engineer with a sound knowledge of Architectural Designing. From bridges and flyovers to highways and skyscrapers, there will always be at least one civil engineer who is responsible for its making.
Focused on the design and creation of unique structures, civil engineering is an invaluable profession across the modern world. Civil engineers are responsible for designing, supervising, operating and maintaining construction projects. Right from deciding to the blueprint of a building to decoding its sewage network, is all part of a civil engineers’ job.
WHAT YOU NEED
Considering that a country’s development strategy and its citizens’ trust depends solely on you, your academic qualifications as a civil engineer will need to be above par. As a student, you must pay attention to Physics and Mathematics, as Civil Engineers are supposed to do fast calculations regarding the length of a beam, deflection points, endurance and hardening time. Even Chemistry has its own charm and importance, as Civil Engineers need to deal with cements’ composition, sand and water mixture etc. and, having a sound knowledge of each and every element comprising the cement always considered a plus point.
After completing your Class 12, you need to appear for various Entrance Exams to take admission in some of the reputed colleges of India, as well as abroad. One of the main entrance exam you can think of is JEE (Mains) and JEE (Advance). Once you pass those, you can pursue a B.Tech, B.Sc (B.S) or a BEng degree in Civil Engineering.
