With increasing number of sightings of button badges, we got the details on this latest trend directly from collectors turned- producers Shean Rodrigues and Daniella Santimano who run Poison Dart Button Badges & Accessories

How did you come up with the idea to start Poison Dart?
Our love for badges is what led to Poison Dart. We would collect badges like people would collect coins and stamps. It started out as a hobby and before we knew it, we were making badges to meet the needs of people.

How have badges caught on as a trend for urban youth?
Button badges have been used for promotional purposes by companies since ages. Today it’s used as a style statement by people who want something that’s different, unique and speaks their mind.

What kind of badges does Poison Dart produce?
Poison Dart’s designs are always up-to-date with the latest trends and happenings and we have something for everyone, be it a football fanatic, a superhero fan or a TV buff. People want something that they can relate to and that’s what we give them. We also customise badges for various college festivals, parties, events and businesses.

How do badges help with making a fashion statement?
Badges are small and funky and can spice up any outfit. They are affordable and aren’t restricted to a particular age group or a certain gender and can be worn by anyone in any way that suits their style and therefore make for the perfect fashion accessory.

Where can someone purchase your badges?
We take orders online via Facebook and Twitter. We also showcase our products at various exhibitions across Mumbai city. Select designs can also be found at the Bliss store in Andheri and Phoenix Market City, Pune. We also take orders via email: poisondartbadges@gmail.com

What is your recommendation on how to wear a badge?
The cool thing about badges is that they can be worn in any way you like: on bags, t-shirts, caps, shoes, college IDs or even as a pendant on a string – the list just goes on and on.
