Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has announced the ‘Ladla Bhai Yojana’ scheme, which provides financial aid to the state’s unemployed males. The new scheme assists unemployed male students who have completed their class 12, diploma or graduate degree. The scheme provides various benefits to youth based on their education qualifications. According to the scheme details, students who have completed class 12 will receive Rs. 6000 per month, who have completed their diploma will receive Rs. 8000 per month and graduates will receive Rs. 10,000 per month.
Aim of ‘Ladla Bhai Yojana’
- The main objective of this scheme is to benefit around 1 million youth. The Maharashtra government is expected to spend a total of ₹10,000 crore for this scheme.
- Under the Ladla Bhai scheme, the youth of Maharashtra will participate in a one-year apprenticeship in a factory, where they must gain work experience that will help them secure jobs in the future.

- Youths whose family members are government employees or members of Parliament or pay income tax are not eligible.

What is Ladli Behna Yojana?

Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Ladli Behna Yojana Maharashtra 2024 and receive its benefits, applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria:
- Domicile: The applicant woman must be a resident of Maharashtra.
- Age: Women aged between 21 and 65 years are eligible.
- Income Limit: The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed ₹2.5 lakhs.
- Bank Account with Aadhaar Linked: The woman’s bank account should be linked with Aadhaar and a mobile number.
- Family Status: No member of the applicant’s family should be a government employee.

The ‘Ladla Bhai Yojana’ released after the newer scheme, ‘Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, gives eligible women in the age group of 21-60 years an amount of ₹1,500 every month.
