Canadian College To Teach Students How T

Yes, you read it right! A college in Canada, in New Brunswick is starting a programme on marijuana cultivation. This is being taught in order to train students to work at companies that produce the drug.

The French-language College, Communautaire du Nouveau- Brunswick is all set to start the course next year informed Michel Doucet, Executive Director of Continuing Education and Customized Learning.

Doucet also said that the school was still in the process of finalising details of the programme with regards to the length, frequency and size of the class which will be conducted. He also added that the marijuana cultivation course is not a mainstream programme and looks to produce qualified employable individuals to meet the needs of the industry as opposed to training students at large.

While colleges across Canada are different from universities in the country, colleges offer mainly diplomas instead of degrees.

The announcement of the new course comes in the background of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau who won on a promise of legalizing recreational marijuana and the government is set to legalize the drug by Spring 2017.

Medical marijuana is already legal in Candada and there are several companies in a small sector who have their eyes fixed on recreational markets as expansion plans. Earlier this year, the government of New Brunswick said that the investment of C$4m in a medical marijuana company will create 208 jobs in the region.
