Devanshi Kapadia tells you what the insta-baddies are crushing over
Thanks to the Social Media revolution, anyone with a beauty blender can upload a picture or video. In the past two years, Instagram has become a favorite discovery tools for the latest in fashion, lifestyle, and beauty. As a beauty junkie, I, and many like me, look to the “baddies” of Instagram for cues on our next manicure or what eyeshadow trend we should be copying for a Saturday night bash.
Glitter Freckles
Glitter freckles are definitely not something you’d wear to work, but this blogger-created trend is breathtaking to look at! This trend began as a faux freckle Instagram trend that developed into a faux glitter freckle trend and eventually, it found its way on the Dior Haute Couture Spring 2017 runway.
Metallic Lips
Pat McGrath also introduced us to the world of ‘Metallic Lips!’ Kylie Jenner Cosmetics, Lime Crime, ColourPop Cosmetics, M.A.C, and more makeup brands have followed suit by launching their own metallic lipsticks. The metallic lips are a favorite with the Insta baddies and have even penetrated mainstream makeup.
Glitter Lips
Celebrity makeup artist, Pat McGrath, who works backstage at fashion weeks, launched her makeup line in 2015. Her multi-purpose pigments were a hit, so in 2016 she added glitter to the mix. While the Internet loved using the glitter pigments on the eyes, Pat introduced us to the experimental world of glitter lips.
The Pink Eye Trend
Instagram influencers like Huda Kattan made the pink eye trend. And no, I don’t mean pink eye like the disease: it is eyeshadow looks made up of blended pinks, like rose gold, pastel, fuchsia, and more. The look can be customized according to your own liking. During LFW Summer Resort 2017, we saw this on for shows like Divya Sheth.
