Close on the heels of the launch of the iPhone 7, Apple launched their latest Macbook Pro at a function in Cupertino. The new Macbook is also their thinnest yet and comes in 13 and 15 inch variants.  Apple CEO Tim Cook also announced that function keys are dead, confirming the rumours that swirled before its launch. The new Macbook pro has a bright and responsive Touch Bar which is placed exactly where traditional function keys were placed making it easy for users to make the transition.

The interactive touch bar now shows function keys like brightness and volume control but also adapts to whichever software you are using on the Macbook Pro. This essentially means that users can now edit videos, photos, mix live tracks while DJing or organize mailboxes by just tweaking controls that sit on the Touch Bar using the new trackpad which is twice the size than traditional ones.

The new Touch Bar also integrates Touch ID over the power button so you can login using only your fingerprints and make purchases via Apple Pay. The massive trackpad is designed to give more creative freedom to designers and musicians making use of both the trackpad and the Touch Bar in unison. Also announced at the event was a 13-inch Macbook Pro without the Touch Bar, costing $1,499. This is designed to attract fans of the typically lighter, thinner – and cheaper – Macbook Air.

At the event, Apple also unveiled their Apple TV which will collate all the TV and movies from across all your apps, in one place.
