Universities and College Admissions Services (UCAS) has seen an increase in the number of applicants applying to UK universities this year. Around 5,83,000 students have already applied this year, an increase of more than 5 per cent. The reason for an increase is also due to the number of students reapplying after receiving rejections in the previous year. Though the number of applications has increased, the number of seats has not. So there will be many more candidates who will be applying for the same number of seats. Th ere has been an increase in demand for courses such as pathology, nursing and radiography.
