The Association of Indian Management Schools, popularly known as AIMS, has planned to setup one more school adding to the long list of 600 reputed B-schools that fall under it. This new business school will be located in Hyderabad and is said to go by the name of National Academy of Management. It has also come to be known that the architectural planning has begun in full swing. The AIMS has already bought five acres adjacent to the Hyderabad campus of BITS-Pilani in Shameerpet for this very purpose. AIMS plans to develop a 50,000 square feet built-up area to set up the institution. Several custom-made programmes for the directors, deans and other administrative staff of business schools will be conducted at the academy with the assistance of top global B-schools. The academy will focus more on faculty development programmes and accreditation certification for B-schools in India. This has been done in order to ensure that the new school receives updated exposure in the field of management. The underlying aim behind building this business school is to establish a management college of global reputation in India. A streamlined control on admissions, fee structure and curriculum will ensure that total transparency is the current focus of the AIMS committee. Novel ideas like “each one teach one” are being incorporated so as to do away with the disparity between the quality of B-schools in India and around world. Under this novel scheme, top B-schools across the country will adopt and mentor developing B-schools in tier-II and tier-III cities. AIMS is the second largest network of business schools in the world. Top-notch institutes like ISB, IIM, NMIMS, MDI and SP Jain all form a part of AIMS.
