TV Show Cliffhangers

Cliffhangers can take you to the edge of your seat, biting your nails as you watch how it all comes down. But left unsolved, can send your mind into a wandering spell that can leave you preoccupied trying to fit the pieces of the puzzle together. And here’s five such hit TV series that we think have some major explaining to do –

Spiderman: The Animated Series

After Spiderman marries the love of his life, Mary Jane, he quickly discovers that she is a clone and the real Mary Jane had been thrown into an interdimensional portal by The Green Goblin. He then runs off to save her, and that’s where the story ends! Nobody knows if he was successful in bringing her back, nor did they get a little more context on the cloning. Fans are definitely hankering for more!

Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman

The show is a romantic comedy-drama between Lois Lane and Clark Kent, that had a successful run until the fourth season. When the show received the ax, the makers decided to leave fans with the most inexplicable suspense TV had ever seen. The final season saw Lois and Clark married, and then find a baby wrapped in an ‘S’. Who was the baby? Where did it come from? Who did it belong to? We will never know.

Sherlock

While every season of Sherlock ended on a cliffhanger, season 4 sent fans into a never-ending tizzy, who concocted a number of conspiracy theories to explain what went down. While nearly every episode of Sherlock threw all kinds of surprises at the audience, nobody was ready for this one – Sherlock and Mycroft’s manipulative sister Euros. After an action-packed finale, the final scene shows Euros back at Sherrinford and Sherlock going to visit her? what happened after they left the house? How did Sherlock free Watson when he was chained to the bottom of the well? Let’s hope for a spin-off.

Scandal

Viewers were dying to know if Olivia Pope would ever get her happy ending—living a slower, small-town life making jam alongside her beloved Fitz. But Scandal series creator Shonda Rhimes wasn’t about to tie things up so simply. When the series ended in 2018, fans never did find out if Olivia and Fitz live happily ever after, but we know for sure that she’s finally able to be her own person, free of the dirty dealings that she was constantly cleaning up in D.C.
