IISER Tirupati was established in 2015. It is an Institution of National Importance, under the Ministry of Education, Government of India and become one of India’s premier institutions for scientific research and education known for innovation in teaching and state-of-the-art research. The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER), Tirupati has launched a new one-year Professional Master’s programme for students and professionals aiming to advance in Data Science and related fields, offering two specialisations in Biological Data Science (BioDS) and Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The curriculum is designed innovatively, encompassing diverse topics, industry projects, and practical training to cater to newcomers and mid-career professionals.

Eligibility Criteria 

— A four-year Bachelor’s degree in Science or Technology or a Master’s degree in Science or Technology.

— A minimum of 60 per cent aggregate marks or a CGPA of 6.0 out of 10.0 for Bachelor’s degree holders and 55 per cent aggregate marks or a CGPA of 5.5 out of 10.0 for Master’s degree holders.

— Professionals from industry or organisations, fresh graduates, and mid-career professionals can also apply.

— For Professional Master’s in BioDS: Candidates with a B.Tech in Biotechnology, BS/M.Sc. in Bioinformatics, or M.Sc. from any Biology discipline (with exposure to Bioinformatics) can apply.

— For Professional Master’s in DS-AI: Apart from meeting the common eligibility criteria, students must have studied Mathematics at the Class 12 level.

Admission Process

  • IISER accept applications which will be submitted online. The online application form must be thoroughly completed and submitted by the candidates. The online application deadline is July 31, 2024.
  • Incomplete or delayed applications will not be accepted.
  • The Institute has the right to refuse or decline admission in both cases, without explaining, and if information submitted on the application form is subsequently discovered to have been altered, suppressed, or both.
  • Email will be the only method of communication with the candidates.
