Tablet users rejoice! Google’s Android OS has come a long way since Gingerbread 3.2 and has landed itself in a delightful scoop of goodness in the form of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The latest operating system combines the best of Honeycomb 3.0 and Gingerbread 2.3 to offer a fantastic, new OS with a ‘holographic’ user interface, more multitasking, a new apps launcher and richer, resizable widgets. On-screen icons now replace physical buttons on devices while the screen takes multitasking to a whole new level. Other design changes include new lock screen features that offer you access to the camera and notifications as well as the ability to group apps and shortcuts by dragging icons into each other! Software upgrades include face recognition unlocking and an enhanced voice input that features a continuously open mic. One of the most fun features is Android Beam that lets users swap Internet content or links to apps by simply touching their phones to each other! Gesture support is yet another welcomed feature as user have to swipe to close or delete items and pinch or zoom not only for images but also to go further into folders.
