Hyderabad, 29 December 2023: In a breathtaking crescendo, the Hyderabad Public School, Begumpet (HPSB), concluded its centennial celebrations with a dazzling ceremony on December 27, 2023. The event seamlessly blended homage to its rich past, celebration of present achievements, and a visionary glimpse into the inspiring future.
The Grand Finale, spanning from December 25th to 27th, featured a spectacular three-day program with notable highlights, including an Alumni Dinner at Taj Falaknuma, The Eagles Carnival, The Vintage and Super Car Show, Start-X Pavilion for entrepreneurs, HPS Museum, panel discussions, and workshops.
The evening program began with a warm welcome note, setting the tone for the festivities, followed by the soul-stirring rendition of the school song.
Leading the felicitation ceremony were Mr. Gusti J Noria, the esteemed President of the Hyderabad Public Schools Society, and Mr. Jalagam Venkat Rao, Secretary & Treasurer of the Hyderabad Public Schools Society. Together, they paid tribute to the school’s illustrious history, acknowledging the invaluable contributions of past presidents, including Mr. A Shyam Mohan, Mr. P Jagadish Reddy, and Mr. R Surender Reddy.
The ceremony reached its pinnacle as Mr. Gusti J Noria, the Principal, Dr. Skand Bali, and Mr. Mathan, a revered former teacher, honored contemporary trailblazers—Mr. Shailesh G. Jejurikar – COO of Procter & Gamble; Mr. Shantanu Narayen – CEO of Adobe; and Dr. D. Nageshwar Reddy – Chairman of the Asian Institute of Gastroenterology—with a Global Impact Award. These luminaries were recognized for their outstanding achievements and profound contributions to society, symbolizing the school’s commitment to fostering positive change on a global scale.
In a stirring address, Mr. Shantanu Narayen shared profound insights into the pivotal role of education and innovation in shaping the future.
In a remarkable display of solidarity and support, distinguished alumni including Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft; Ajay Banga, World Bank President; renowned cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle; Fairfax CEO Prem Watsa, and acclaimed actor Nagarjuna, conveyed their heartfelt messages during the grand finale.
The event featured a captivating video presentation unveiling the school’s master plan for the future, a heartfelt thanksgiving video to key contributors, and the much-anticipated launch of the new school logo—a symbol embodying the institution’s vision and unwavering commitment to excellence.
The evening soared to new heights with a mesmerizing musical performance by the renowned artist Shankar Ehsaan Loy, enchanting the audience and adding a harmonious touch to this historic occasion.
The grand finale concluded on a patriotic note with the stirring rendition of the national anthem, symbolizing unity, pride, and a century of unwavering excellence in education.
