1. Tension in J&K continue. CRPF jawan and minor boy killed amidst attack

The Central Reserve Police Force on Friday said that a CRPF jawan was martyred and a minor boy was killed in a terrorist attack in Bijbehara area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The terrorists attacked a CRPF party stationed in highway security in Bijbehara. An official said that both of them succumbed to injuries at the hospital where they were taken.

2. DU academic council requests the VC to reconsider online examination

A council of twenty-five members wrote to Delhi University’s Vice-chancellor asking for the cancellation of the open book examination. The letter was written as a response to HRD Ministers plea to UGC for going though its guidelines on conducting examinations and more. Online admissions for undergraduate as well as postgraduate courses in DU are open till July 14.

3. Thunderstorms in Bihar, 100 or more fatalities recorded

More than 100 people died in an incident of lightning and thunderstorm in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Gorakhpur-Basti division in UP witnessed the maximum number of deaths at 13. 88 people were killed in Bihar with Gopalganj district reporting the maximum deaths at 13, followed by 8 deaths each in Madhubani and Nawada districts. Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has announced a compensation of  Rupees Four lakh for the families of the deceased. 

4. UNICEF faces shortage of funds, fears Yemeni kids will die of starvation

According to Reuters, the count of malnourished children in Yemen will reach about 2.4 million by the end of 2020 as a UNICEF Report warned of a rise of 20% in the number of malnourished children under the age of five. The current situation is chaotic and the world needs to lend a helping hand to this weeping land.

A thirty-year wait has finally ended for Liverpool as they bag the premier league title for the first time. Liverpool won 28 of their 31 matches in the tournament, with a total of 86 points. They broke all kind of records during a memorable campaign. The title was secured when Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-1 with seven matches remaining.

17,296 people were tested positive in the last 24 hours making the total a huge 4,90,401 people. The number of deaths has reached about 15,301. The number of active case in the country are 1,89,463 currently.

7. Justin Beiber files a case against two women over claims of sexual assault

Justin Bieber has filed a defamation case over two women who accused him of sexually assaulting them in 2014 and 15 on Twitter. He is demanding 10 million dollars from each accuser and deems these two accounts to be fake.

On Thurday, PM Imran Khan called the terrorist Osama Bin Laden as a martyr in the Pakistani parliament and continued by saying that Islamabad should have never been involved in the US led war on terror. Coincidentally, FATF also decided to keep Pakistan on the grey list as it has failed to keep a check on the funding of terror groups.
