1. Registration for IIM CAT 2020 begins today @ iimcat.ac.in
The online registration for the Common Admission Test (CAT), 2020 has started. Interested Applicants need to enrol themselves by following a basic process as per the parameters mentioned on the official website. The last day for registration is September 16,2020,5pm. Clearing CAT can guarantee a seat in one of twenty campuses of the IIM Franchise, each equally renowned and good at developing a student’s personality and academic capabilities.
2. BMC chalks out Rs 38-cr plan for digital classrooms amid COVID-19
Amidst the Pandemic, The BMC has taken up a daunting task of replacing traditional chalkboards with interactive digital boards. This Rs.38 cr worth plan is already in motion as the BMC has already marked out a plan for creating this change in about 1,300 schools.BMC Joint Commissioner Ashutosh Salil said: “The cost estimates for the tender were arrived at after evaluating listings and rates quoted by vendors on the Union government GeM portal (government e-marketplace)”. With some time in hand due to the pandemic,the students will return to a better-equipped space for learning.
3. For the 1st time in history, Indian Army deploys women soldiers along LoC in Kashmir
As per reports, the women soldiers are from Assam Rifles and have been given this opportunity on deputation. Most of them are deployed at Sadhana Top, which is at an altitude of 10,000 feet.
They are mostly deployed at security checkpoints for crowd control and for keeping a check on the prevalent drug dealings. The military is keen on including 800 or more women in the coming time for assistance in cases of rapes, molestation, and also for preserving discipline and overall in the area.

5. CBI to investigate Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case
Taking note of the tussle between the Maharashtra and Bihar police, the Supreme Court has sought a status report from Bihar and Mumbai governments along with the Centre and Sushant Singh‘s father in response to Rhea Chakraborty’s plea in the three days. Hence, the Supreme Court is set to stop the politicizing of the actor’s death by accepting the Bihar government’s recommendation for a CBI probe.
6. Google Play Music to be replaced by YouTube Music by the end of the year
Google play to shut down by September -December for paving a way for YouTube Music. Users won’t be able to use the app by late October itself, they can still save their data or transfer it to Youtube Music. Other than that, Google is also removing music from the Play store completely so the time to download the songs you don’t like to stream is now.
7. NIOS declares 12th Result of 2020 on nios.ac.in
National Institute for Open Schooling decided to cancel examinations for class tenth and twelfth on July 10, 2020 due to the ongoing pandemic. The results are based on the past performance of the students and those who are not satisfied with their grades will be given the opportunity to improve their grades in the next public examination which will be held once the situation gets better.
8. Scientists claim to have found Saturn-like planet orbiting small, cool star
35 light-years away from Earth, astronomers seem to have observed the presence of a star’s wobble orbiting around a small cool star and now are somewhat close to concluding that the new planet might be equal to Saturn in terms of mass. The new planet is closer to the star than mars is to the Sun.
The research has been going on for a year and a half and the researchers have named it as TVLM 513-46546 while studying.
9. Development in Kulbhushan Jadhav’s case- Pak to appoint three lawyers as impartial advisers
The Islamabad court has ordered the Pakistan government to give India another chance to appoint a counsel for Jadhav on humanitarian grounds, who was sentenced to death on grave charges like terrorism and espionage back in 2017.The court has also named three senior lawyers as impartial advisers or amici curiae. India seems to have approached the current ICJ for challenging the Pakistan government against Jadhav’s death sentence.
10. Serum Institute to begin with its last stage of human trials in a weeks time
The second and third clinical trials at about seventeen sites will begin once the ethical testing parameters are cleared. As per the Director-General of Indian Council of Medical Research, the process will begin in a week’s time. At this rate, the vaccine will be in our near medical facilities soon.
