Popular name in the South-East Asia education space, Jaspal Sidhu is launching his venture in India with Vijaybhoomi International School. The school will be located in Karjat, near Mumbai.
“India has a promising pool of talent that has suffered from lack of sync with industry relevant training. The solution to this is transforming the training system since primary education for the students to learn concepts first. This is what makes the Singapore curriculum different from others as it provides students with the flexibility to pursue their interests with focused skill building. Learning should be a habit and not a compulsion,” said Jaspal Sidhu during the launch of Vijaybhoomi International School.
“Coming years will see a problem solving generation which will also be a contributor in the industrial era 4.0. Hence, the students now need a training system which allows them conceptual leaning. The Indian education system has been lagging behind when compared to other methods across the world. It is high time to adapt to better learning systems”, added Sanjay Padode, Secretary, Centre for Development Education (CDE).
Singapore curriculum is recognized as the best educational systems worldwide as per Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, as well as the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) test. The curriculum is centered on life skills which ensures that students acquire sound values and skills to take them through life as responsible adults and active citizens.
Vijaybhoomi International School will be a week and a term boarding school, with focus on sports and creative arts and learning through experience. The teachers at the school too, will be trained to provide the right quality of education, according to the Singapore pedagogy. The classroom environment will allow students to study what they like through conceptual learning methods.
The school will start their admission process from July 2018.
