MICA OFFERS ALL NEW SPECIALISATION

  •  Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) has started a  specialisation in digital communications management for its flagship two-year  postgraduate diploma in management communication (PGDM-C), from this year.
  • This course is going to be the fifth new specialisation offered by the institute. At present the institute offers specialisations in brand management, advertising management, media management, and marketing research courses.

GOOGLE APPS FOR EDUCATION SUMMIT, INDIA

  • The first annual Google Apps for Education India Summit will be hosted by the American School of Bombay in Mumbai on 1 and 2 December 2013, in association with EdTech.
  •  It will feature Google Certified Teachers, Google Apps for Education Certified Trainers, exemplary practitioners, solution providers, Google engineers, and representatives from the Google Apps for Education team.
  • One can also sign up for pre-summit workshops to brush up on relevant tech trivia. Registrations are open; early bird registration is for US$199  (`11884), which includes direct access to Google employees and world-class educational technology leaders.

 

 

 

 

 

REGENESYS B-SCHOOL LAUNCHES FREE ONLINE BUSINESS EDUCATION

  • South Africa-based management institute Regenesys Business School has launched a list of free online programmes in business education, offering certificate, diploma and MBA degrees to Indian and international students (based on the ‘freemium’ model).
  • Study materials will be provided to registered candidates. There are options available to students to submit assignments, and write  examinations or attend classes, which, however, are paid-for services. Hence, if a student wishes to obtain an MBA degree after accessing the free learning materials, they can pay a fee and appear for the examination to obtain the degree.

MELBOURNE RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS 2013

  • Students who wish to study for a graduate research degree at University of Melbourne, Australia can apply for the Melbourne International Research Scholarship Awards 2013 (MIRS), before 31 August 2013.
  • There are 150 scholarships available for international students. The scholarships are to be awarded on the basis of eligibility and academic merit.
  • Eligibility: This scholarship is available to international students only (i.e. citizens of countries other than Australia and New Zealand who are not permanent Australian residents). IIT BOMBAY ENTERS INTO AN MOU WITH HARVARD UNIVERSITY

  • IIT Bombay is all set to make some of its regular courses available to students within the country and others globally as per their MoU with Harvard University in the form of open online courses, absolutely free of cost.
  • IIT-B has partnerships with edX, a non-profit organisation set up by Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard to launch its Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).

POSTGRADS CAN NOW GET A FIVE-YEAR VISA TO FRANCE

  • All Indian citizens who have graduated from a French higher educational institution will now get a five-year tourist or business visa, if their studies in France are at a master’s degree or PhD level.
  • The French embassy in India has simplified visa procedures for Indian students, with special measures to expedite the visa process for those living far from any French consulate or Campus France office.
  • Regarding the French accommodation allowance (CAF): students won’t have to provide the CAF with the apostille any more to get the monthly rent allowance, so formalities are made easier for international students.
