Spykar Lifestyles, India’s most exciting denim brand for the youth presented the country’s largest B-boying dance competition at Phoenix Market City on Saturday. The competition received a record breaking participation from over 100 college students from across the country, which were judged by international bboying artists – Bboy Storm from Germany & Julius Beatbox from Sri Lanka; hosted by the famous emcee Mc Beep. Along with this, DJ Ivan Lendl from Hyderabad concluded the evening with the upbeat music hits and hip-hop tracks at the mall. Black Ice Crew, the seven year old Bboy group from India organized the evening, encouraged the participants with their experiences and doubled the energy on the stage.
Niels “Storm” Robitzky is world known Bboying artist from Germany, who excelled his childhood passion into profession. The early 90s saw his rise globally, especially with his golden win at the International Balle of the year. He has also performed with well know Bboy celebrities, and has now judged the Freeze 2015. Julius is an extremely well-known talent in Beat boxing, singing, playing musical instruments (piano, guitar) and accapella to name a few. He is the first in Sri Lanka to introduce the Art of Beatbox to the country and has travelled across the globe for some mind-blowing performances.
The competition witnessed extraordinary talents through its four stages in the competition. The talent grew wider and the competition grew tougher at every stage for the. The qualifier rounds were the turning point of the evening as the eye-opening performances created a huge shout-out within the public. The audiences were found peeking up and above, finding their way for the best view—near the stage, at every floor, staircases and glass elevators—to watch the show.
The winners of the competition will get a direct-entry at The Culture’ 15- India’s Biggest Hip Hop & Urban Art Festival presented by Spykar, in Mumbai. The winner will receive an all-expense-paid trip by the organizing committee, gratifying them for their talent, along with exciting hampers by Spykar.
