‘Malhal Local-2012’ kicked off with great prestige and marvellous planning. This time Malhar also went online and viral by holding a photography competition online. Kick-started on July 12, the competition was open for amateur photographers across the country and received a mind-boggling response. The Conclave was of epitomic esteem. The ‘Paint My Ride’ workshop brought out the connoisseur painter in participants. The ‘Capoeira’ did make all jaw-dropped. From the glamorous B-Town, Sridevi, Amrita Rao, Anjana Sukhani, Shazahn Padamsee, Arunoday Singh, Leslie Lewis, Vir Das, Purab Kohli and several others mingled with the energetic students as they judged various events. The Mr.Malhar participants were bold & beautiful this time, who also gave lap dances to judges. It was a total bamboozling hell of a ride.
‘Umang 2012’ did rock the lands as well seas with its Mariners saga. Beauty and energy swayed throughout the entire fest. The Fine Arts Exhibit– Memoirs in Footstones- was inaugurated by Ms. Ragini Khanna of Jhalak Dikhla Ja fame. Jashoda Rang Mandir rocked to the tunes of Sunidhi Chauhan who performed the song, ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’. It did make all the Sheila’s and non-Sheila’s liven up the jawani in them. Talking of workshops, a fun-filled Zumba workshop did make the atmosphere wild, while the Samba workshop did make the gals and boys rock romantically on the floor. Just-A-Minute (JAM) with JAM Master Hormuz was an epitomic jammin’ time. In the words of Hormuz, “Umang has witnessed its best JAM I’ve seen in 5 years!” The participants were filled to the brim with witty sagas and humour.
The PROnite was a night of beats and dancing. The evening began with the beats of DJ Nawed, followed by the Midival Punditz duo and concluded by Nikhil Chinappa. The band PRALAY , 1st Indian band to be released with International Label Sonic Wave Intl Chicago did set legs on fire. The band’s struggle is an inspiration for the story of an upcoming film by a famous esteemed film maker. Umang 2012 did reach for more than moo-re!
