In a dazzling display of elegance and intellect, Krystyna Pyszkova, a 23-year-old law student and model from the Czech Republic, emerged victorious as she was crowned Miss World 2024. The prestigious event, held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, showcased the poise, talent, and compassion of women from across the globe.

The journey to the crown was not an easy one. With 120 contestants representing various countries, the competition was fierce, each contestant bringing her unique charm and charisma to the stage. Yet, amidst the glitz and glamour, it was Pyszkova’s heartfelt advocacy for women’s health care that captured the judges’ attention.

During the classic Q&A round, Pyszkova eloquently addressed the issue of removing the stigma surrounding menstruation, emphasizing that being a woman is a gift and that periods should not be a taboo subject. Her words resonated deeply, shining a light on an important yet often overlooked aspect of women’s health.

When asked why she should be crowned the next Miss World, Krystyna brought her cause to the forefront and thoughtfully replied: “As of 2024, it’s still a fact that 250 million children are out of school worldwide. And that’s why my lifelong mission is to provide quality education to unprivileged children. I believe that education is a fundamental right every child deserves and I’m here to advocate for those children. It’s something I’ve been doing for a very long time, much before I entered pageantry. It’s something that’s really close to my heart and what I’ll be doing even after I win or don’t win Miss World.”

The Miss World pageant has a rich history dating back to 1951 when it was initially conceived as a bikini contest by Eric Morley as part of the Festival of Britain. Over the years, it has evolved into a celebration of beauty, intelligence, and social responsibility, with contestants actively involved in charitable causes and humanitarian efforts.

This year’s panel of judges, which included Bollywood luminaries such as Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde, as well as former Miss World winners and prominent figures from various fields, faced the daunting task of selecting a winner from a pool of exceptional talent. According to Rajat Sharma, one of the judges, the decision was not easy, with all 40 contestants deserving recognition for their remarkable contributions.

In the end, it was Pyszkova’s combination of grace, intelligence, and dedication to making a positive impact that set her apart. As a law student at Charles University in Prague and a volunteer at the Sonta Foundation in Tanzania, where she teaches English to underprivileged children, she exemplifies the values of Beauty With A Purpose, the ethos at the heart of the Miss World organization.

Upon being crowned Miss World 2024, Pyszkova expressed her gratitude and excitement for the year ahead. “It is a dream come true,” she exclaimed, “I am deeply honoured to represent my country and the values of Beauty With A Purpose on a global platform. I am so excited for the year ahead.”

The Miss World 2024 event was not just a beauty pageant; it was a celebration of diversity, empowerment, and the limitless potential of women. Co-hosted by former Miss World Megan Young and renowned Indian film director Karan Johar, the event showcased the talents of Indian singers Shaan, Neha Kakkar, and Tony Kakkar, adding to the spectacle and grandeur of the occasion.

As the spotlight fades and the confetti settles, Krystyna Pyszkova carries on her journey as Miss World 2024, carrying with her the hopes and dreams of women around the world. With her passion, intelligence, and commitment to making a difference, she is poised to inspire and uplift millions, proving that true beauty transcends the superficial and shines brightest from within.
