IIT Mumbai & Amity University Bid for Engineering Campuses in New York

The Indian Institute of Technology, Mumbai as well as Amity University, Noida are two of  the 15 institutions worldwide that have submitted bids to New York City to set up science and engineering campuses. Known as the ‘Applied Sciences NYC’ initiative, this project offers the winners incentives like free city land and USD 100 million in capital. The consortium is proposing to set up a centre for urban science nd research in downtown Brooklyn for over 500 graduate students. Amity University has submitted a proposal to set up a campus in Governors Island.
