EMPOWERING YOUTH AS CITIZEN JOURNALISTS

* The US Consulate General is organising a two day workshop for people who want to bring about a positive change in society.
* The workshop, for individuals between 1425 years, will help bring to attention issues that students are passionate about. They will also be taught how to communicate these issues adequately.

EDX NOW OFFERING PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

* EdX founded by Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, an open-source enterprise that offers online courses is now starting courses for professionals (www.edx.org/professionaleducation)
* These will help participants enhance their careers and also give companies a chance to encouage continued education among its employees. * * The course timings will be adjusted according to a student’s convenience and the fees for it will be relatively low.
* The fee of each course varies depending on subject material and duration.
* Some of the subject areas are innovation, energy, medicine, IT and cyber security with courses like ‘Medicine in the Digital Age’, ‘Energy Technology and Policy’, ‘Economics of Cyber security’, ‘Basics of Energy Sustainability’ and more.
* Each course will offer a verified certificate of achievement.

RAFFLES DESIGN INTERNATIONAL HOSTS ‘BRIGHT YOUNG TALENT’
* Raffles Design International in Mumbai hosted a graduation show called ‘Bright Young Talent’ in honour of their degree students.
* The event was held on 20 September 2014 at The Lalit  Intercontinental with almost 500 delegates in attendance.
* The advanced diploma and degree students put up an exhibition of their work which included design concepts of the interior, graphic, product, multimedia, fashion marketing and fashion design departments.
* The Fashion Design Advanced Diploma and Degree students had a fashion show to showcase their talents with themes like Coop Couture, Seek your Wings, Aurae and Midnight Tiffany.
* Lauren Gottlieb was one of the important Chief Guests at the ceremony.
* Some of the partners of the event included Bright Outdoor, Exceleon, RSGI, Vibes MultiEntertainment, Interlink, Shiva’s, Executive Enclave and Fat Mu.
