It’s showtime for Cannes 2022 and we cannot be more excited to watch its red carpet dazzle with glamorous outfits worn by personalities! Social media is already going all gaga about Deepika Padukone’s stunning looks at the Cannes.
2022’s Cannes Film Festival is double special for the reason that this year India will be the official Country of Honour at the upcoming Marche’ Du Film, organised alongside the Cannes Film Festival in France.
At the Country of Honour, the main focus is Indian cinema, its culture and heritage. The event will hold performances by Indian choir bands along with folk music and fireworks. During the event, five new Indian start-ups would be given an opportunity to pitch their business idea to the audio-visual industry.
Union Minister of Information & Broadcast Ministry, Anurag Thakur tweeted:
Cannes is in its 75th year. It kickstarted with a bang on 17th May and will end on 28th of May. The festival is being conducted in France and will be hosting celebrities from the global entertainment industry.
Indian movies of languages Tamil, Marathi, Malayalam, Mishing, and Hindi will take the centre stage at the festival. The tentative line of the films to be lined up is Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, Godavari, Alpha Beta Gamma, Boomba Ride, Dhuin, Tree Full of Parrots. Keeping in mind the birth anniversary of the legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray, a film of his is also going to be screened at the Cannes Classics section.
Cannes 2022 is especially holding the attraction of Deepika Padukone’s fans across the world. Unlike the previous years, she is one of the eight juries. So this year, she will not just walk the red carpet, but also play the role of a festival jury member.
