Shakespeare rightly said that ‘The world is a stage and we all are performers.’  Music, Dance, Fashion Show, Quiz, Photography, Cyber Games, Sports and many more. The stage is set once again for Brahmotsav the inter college fest of Thakur Vidya Mandir High School & Junior College.

If we are to achieve a richer social culture, rich in values and culture then we must recognize the human potentialities and weave a social fabric one in which every diverse human race finds the right place. And it is through college fests that the students fraternity are woven in one fabric of getting a first hand experience of management, speaking skills, organizing talent and moreover the spirit of team work.

Brahmotsav has been witnessing a bustling crowd of 4,000 students and more every year. In the successive years the fest has garnered a lot of enthusiasm from the college students all across Mumbai.  The two day fest offers diverse genre under one theme which leads the students to showcase their talent. Brahmotsav the name itself is significant of a grand celebration and the lord of the fests.  Many celebrities have imparted blessings to the fest in the past Mukesh Khanna, Sunil Pal, Prajakta Shukre, Santosh Yadav, Narsinh Yadav to name a few. This years theme is Bollywood….A bit of Art in every Heart.

Extending a helping hand to the needy last year the fest was in a joint venture with the NGO Hum Hain Foundation. This year too the fest has been acquiring popularity and a good response from the other colleges. The footfall of the students have increased and every year students look forward for Brahmotsav.  The festival caters to all kinds of talent and organizes an array of events based on performing arts, literature, gaming, fine arts,sports etc. Every year the students of Thakur Vidya Mandir High School & Junior College work endlessly striving each year to out do none other than themselves bringing forth new ideas and events. Balancing their academics as well as the cocurricular activities Brahmotsav is truly an enriching and rewarding experience for the student fraternity. With a host of new events and surprises lined up Brahmotsav at Thakur Vidya Mandir High School & Junior College will be captivating and enthralling for one and all.

The various events are categorized under five main themes- Fine Arts, Performing Arts,Informalz,Literary Arts, Gaming and Sports. It is rightly said that ‘Art imitates life’, therefore the students are given a platform to display their talent in the  Fine Arts categories like  –Sponge Painting, Face Painting, Mehendi, Bookmark designing, Fashion designing.  Taking a step further the most popular category is of Performing Arts which has events like- Solo dance, Group dance, Street Dance,Street Play, Bollywood Solo Singing, Western Solo Singing. Informalz has competitions lined up like Mr.and Miss Brahmotsav, War of Clz and Aclz, Fashion Show, Unique Clicks. Under  Literary Arts there is Word Games, Elocution, Story Writing , Debate, Creative Writing Relay and last but not the least there is the category of Gaming and Sports wherein the events put up are Box Cricket, Rink Football, Counter Strike,NFS and FIFA.

Blessing the event and looking at the enthusiasm of the students every year, Mr.Rajkumar Singh the Trustee of the Thakur Vidya Mandir High School exclaimed, “A firm determination coupled with planned hard work is the only way to the ultimate goal of achieving success”.

In its fifth year Brahmotsav through the various events has successfully provided the platform to display their skills and hone their talents. Times are changing and today life is no longer only focused on academics. Dramatics, dance, singing, literature, games and the sky is the limit. The young generation today is an all round personality bundled with multiple talents. As it is rightly said that all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, today the teenagers need exposure and proper guidance to overcome their inner fears and through the various  talents in the cultural activities, through the various competitions they grow mature and a more emerge as a more confident person.

The highlight of the event this year is the game Treasure Hunt based on the Bollywood theme. Treasure Hunt would be organized for two days and the participants will have to strive hard and whack their brains, adorn their thinking hat to get the guesses right for the tricky questions lined up for them. Getting the treasure after the two days hard work will certainly add feather in their cap.

Shedding light on the event avers, Master Daksh Singhal a student of second year junior college and the General Secretary of the college, “ Brahmotsav has helped the students in developing the leadership qualities. Events and college fests are now an integral part of our life.”

Kundan Bhandari the ex student from Thakur Vidya Mandir High School and Junior College also is nostalgic as he confesses that he was not a very confident person while at school but while working for Brahmotsav he discovered the other side of his personality.

The other supporting names associated with the fest are bigwigs like Fiitjee, NAEMD,Godrej Consumer products, Fly High Aviation Academy, Bazzinga, Save Pocket Money, Youth Incorporated, Brain Buxa.

The bigwigs who would grace the occasion and cheer the students  are G-Gang, Famous Crew, DID Stars Shweta & Ennette D’Souza, and popular stars Abhigyaan and Dolly Mattoo, Sheezan and Shravan Reddy.

Brahmotsav is an amalgamation of hardwork, dedication and joy. To sum up we can just say that Brahmotsav originated like a dream which transformed into a thought and has eventually nurtured into a beautiful reality.
