The newest offering from the studio is another original tale that uses some of today’s biggest stars as its voice actors. Spellbound is also a musical, bringing many original songs – and its own score – to audiences. Alan Menken, the winner of two Academy Awards, comprised the score, and the lyrics were created by Glenn Slater. John Lasseter is one of Spellbound’s producers. The story centres on the royal family of the land of Lumbria and the spell that was cast on the land. This spell caused the kingdom to fracture into two, and the royal family spends the film seeking to break that spell and return the land to the way it was. The king, queen, and Princess Ellian embark on a journey to discover the way to break the spell, and they consult with oracles to try to restore the kingdom as well as her family. The story is a tale that is meant to touch the heart as well as to keep audiences engrossed in its exciting tale. There will be toys on the market that are based on this musical.
