Editor’s Note – January 2015

It’s the most exciting time of the year once again; free from studies, timetables and exams, month-long vacations to do as you please and be in control of your life. This is the only part I miss from my school and college days, to get up late, watch TV and movies all day, go on bike rides with friends, catch up on a favourite book and much more. Of course, the cherry on the cake was the annual summer holiday that the family would take. Some of us were lucky enough to have our dadi-nani or relatives living in another city, to get a chance to visit them. The rest had to ensure holiday bookings were done in time to make the most of the 2-3 weeks.

Today, the entire way we travel has changed, and with so many travel apps and tour operators, getting anywhere is easy. It’s not uncommon to check out hotel and restaurant ratings online, plan adventure sport activities in advance and prepare for the perfect holiday. Thanks to the one currency and one visa policy, Europe is the best travel option for us, apart from the visa-free, cheaper SAARC countries. Whether you find your muse in museums or you love exploring or relaxing on the beach, Have Passion, Will Travel has lots of travel tips and holidays options as per your taste.

But if you want to make the most of your holidays and decorate your resume while you’re travelling abroad, try your hand at the various internship opportunities we’ve listed out for you in International! A month in an international setting will do wonders for you and your resume.

I am glad to announce that we hosted Youth Inc Festival Awards – YIFA 2015 last month, which was an overwhelming success with more than 100 entries from across the country. The esteemed jury had a tough time selecting the winners as all the entries were outstanding. Students flew in from different cities to collect their awards and receive the due recognition. We hope that YIFA has set the stage for grander, sassier college festivals in the years to come.

Here’s to a month of fun and relaxation!
