3 Ways To Reduce Stress In Your Life

Life throws a lot at us every day. We wake up to the blaring sound of an alarm, startled and in truth already running a bit late. We immediately jump into our hectic morning routine and hustle to get showered so we can get ready for work. When we log on to our work computer, we find a mountain of emails all clamoring for our attention. There are projects on deadline, customers to deal with and time-wasting meetings to attend. Hours later, it’s quitting time and we have to rush through the evening so we can get up tomorrow and do it all over again. Somehow, after years of evolution and the advancement of humanity, we’ve created a daily existence that is immensely stressful and nearly out of control.

There is no time for relaxing, no gentle respite, no time to put aside the chaos and simply be peaceful for a while. The demands come at us from all directions, and we try to keep up with everything by running like hamsters on a wheel. With everything going on, it’s critical that we change the way we navigate the world and come up with ways to reduce the stress in our lives.

Create A Financial Cushion

Most people are really stressed by their financial situation. No matter how hard you work, it seems, it’s always a struggle to balance the budget each month. You can barely pay the bills, and for most of us there’s no financial cushion at all. It’s easy to lose sleep over money concerns and it’s one of those issues that never seem to go away. One of the best ways to lower your stress levels is to create a financial reserve that protects you from the ups and downs of monthly money worries. If you currently have life insurance, you can see if you are eligible for a life settlement that would pay you cash right now based on the value of your policy. It’s helpful to review a guide so you fully understand the pros and cons of this decision and so you can be sure you are maximizing your policy’s cash value.

Enjoy Time in Nature Every Day

For most of humanity’s history, we spent much of our lives outdoors. Our ancestors lived on Mother Earth, constructing tipis and other dwellings that provided a direct connection with the land. Life could be stressful at times, but if you were a member of a hunter-gatherer tribe once you found or gathered enough food and water your tasks were done for the day. The chaotic frenzy we live in now did not exist back then. When take a break from work and the constant demands, you can immerse yourself in the calm and healing rhythms of nature and Earth. As you walk in a forest or sit along a placid lakefront shore the craziness of our hectic world is replaced by the soothing sounds and energies of the outdoors. Our bodies can then reset and synch up with the rhythm of the natural world.

Take Time Away from Social Media and the News

With the advent of smart phones, every one of us has a screen beeping at us and beckoning to us every moment of the waking day. We check our devices obsessively, and set different sounds for each social media post, email and text received. The fear of missing out drives us to stay in touch, and deep down we are also being manipulated algorithmically. People who have gone off social media and watching the news fast report wonderful results. They say they have more peace in their life once they let go for a while and stop compulsively checking and following every new post and snippet of news. Social media companies work hard to get us hooked. Their algorithm delivers posts that we will react to and that will cause an emotional response, which in turn triggers stress. If you step away for a while you can reset your central nervous system and you’ll find that you were fine with taking a relaxing break from the online world.
