K.C. College Gears Up For Blitzkrieg 2026

This January, the Department of Mass Media from Kishinchand Chellaram College, HSNC University, Mumbai, will host the International Film Festival on 29 January and the 23rd edition of  Blitzkrieg on 30th and 31st January, 2026, setting the stage for a celebration of cinema and media.

The International Film Festival (IFF) opens the celebrations with a diverse showcase of global cinema. This year, the festival received 146 film submissions, including 21  international entries from France, Indonesia, Brazil, and Spain. The screenings span multiple categories and languages, featuring an Oscar-nominated French short film alongside a rich selection of Indian regional films.

On 30th and 31st January, the campus comes alive with Blitzkrieg 2026, one of Mumbai’s largest intercollegiate media festivals. With participation from over 15 colleges and an expected 6,000-plus rotational footfalls daily, the two-day fest brings together several celebrity judges, aspiring journalists, filmmakers, advertisers, and media professionals in an energetic and creative atmosphere.

This year’s theme, “The Echoes of the Lost Kingdoms,” is inspired by forgotten empires and lost civilisations. Each participating college will represent a lost kingdom, expressing its story through performances, competitions, and curated creative showcases.

Sharing insights on the event, Ms Surya Gune, Convenor of Blitzkrieg 2026, said, “The  International Film Festival enters its third edition this year with multiple entries from filmmakers across the globe. Blitzkrieg ’26 will see participation from around 15 Mumbai  colleges across 20 to 25 student-curated events spanning filmmaking, journalism,  advertising, public relations, and other media disciplines.”

Blitzkrieg 2026 blends learning with celebration through debates, fashion shows, dance performances, immersive media-based events, a high-energy Bolier room, and a live band performance.

With its mix of international cinema, imaginative themes, and large-scale student participation, KC College’s January showcase stands out as a memorable cultural moment on Mumbai’s collegiate calendar.
