Elan and ηvision 2023, the 14th edition of the annual techno-cultural fest of the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad, was successfully held from 17-19th February 2023. The fest was organized by the student community and received overwhelming participation from students, faculty, and staff of the institute as well as from external participants from various colleges and universities. After two years, the fest was held entirely in offline mode.
The theme of this year’s fest was “Secrets of Valenrow.” Valenrow is a magical & mystical town with different covens and clans residing here. The entire campus area was decorated in accordance with the theme. The fest provided a platform for students to showcase their talent and skills through various competitions, workshops, and events.
The fest’s title sponsor, Greenko Group, delivered a guest lecture to raise awareness of using sustainable and renewable energy sources. The co-title sponsor, Uni-Ball India, promoted the value of handwriting versus the widespread use of digital devices for writing purposes.
The fest featured a diverse range of events, including cultural performances, technical competitions, hackathons, workshops, guest lectures, EMLs, and exhibitions. The cultural events included music, dance, drama, singing, rap battle, and fashion shows, which were a massive hit among the participants. The technical events included robotics, coding, quiz competitions, maze explorer, sugar rocketry, and online gaming tournaments, which provided a challenging and fun-filled learning experience for the participants.
The social cause theme for this year is ‘Ikshana – Save Animals.’ Because of human greed, animals have become a target of abuse. One of the significant concerns of today’s modern world, we aim to give the issue a much-needed limelight and attraction. Animals also have the full right to live on earth as much as human beings have. We believe that every creation of mother nature should be treated with love, respect, and compassion.
The CEO of Ramoji film city, Shri. Sesha Kantam Raju addressed students and encapsulated the importance of creative thinking with a lecture on “Creative Thinking Inside the Box.”
The fest also witnessed the presence of renowned artists like Gajendra Verma, DJ Shaan, DJ Zephyrtone, PratsOfficial, Anand Bhaskar Collective, and many others who entertained the crowd with their electrifying performances. Fun-packed standup performance by Aashish Solanki was the peak experience of humor. A thrilling bike stunt show was organized in association with TVS Apache Racing. The pro shows were the best part of the fest. All the participants from different parts of the country were enthralled by the power-packed performances.
The fest also featured a variety of food stalls, which added to the participant’s overall experience. The IIT Hyderabad campus witnessed a total footfall of around more than 10,000 participants. With every coming edition, we are growing and giving our best to deliver the community a fun and worth-remembering experience.
The fest received positive feedback from the participants, who praised the events’ organization, quality, and diversity. Many participants expressed their desire to attend the fest again and recommended it to their peers.
Overall, Elan and ηvision 2023 was a huge success, with a participation of over 10,000 people from various parts of the country.
