The Sadhana Education Society’s L. S. Raheja College of Arts and Commerce celebrated their annual inter-collegiate festival PARALLAX, which was organised by its degree college (unaided section). The inauguration event began with the lighting of lamp done their Principal Dr. Debajit N. Sarkar, CAO Shri Shripad Tamhane, the Chief Guest Mrs. Chaitali Phadke and faculty representatives. The students were addressed by the Principal, CAO and the Chief Guest, who offered them words of encouragement. This was followed with the cutting of ribbon and dropping of the banner PARALLAX 2020.
The theme, Reminiscence- finding ways to the good old days, allowed the memories of childhood days to be brought out, dusted and shared. The festival disclosed the treasure chest of ‘Nothing like Childhood Days’.
PARALLAX 2020 had tied up with Indian Sanitary Coalition, NGO. Since 2015, this NGO has been working tirelessly for providing sanitation in urban/rural India. Such sanitation communities encourage other organisations to collaborate and spread awareness.
The star-studded festival of PARALLAX 2020 was graced by various celebrities like Vartika Jha, Niraj Yadav, Rishikesh Patil, Nelson, Martin, Payal Singh, Savya Bhati, Urfi Javed, Jay Thakkar etc.
Like every year, even this year’s PARALLAX organised their flagship events that included modern and cultural mix portrayed through dance performances, social messages conveyed in street plays, testing physical and mental strength in corporate roadies, a quest for fun in the treasure hunt and voicing of opinions in lively debates.
It was a festival with 4000+ participants, 250+ volunteers, 35+ colleges and 15+ contingents all combined in 3 days to make the vision of Team PARALLAX possible.
The participants were enthusiastic when asked about their favourite part of the festival, a participant thus said, ” the decorations put up in the college premises are eye-catching and cartoons from my childhood are graciously displayed”.
The winner of PARALLAX 2020 was the contingent Doraemon – KES Shroff and the runner up was Mario – S.K. Somaiya, followed by Goku – R.D. National and Aladdin – KPB Hinduja were the second runner ups.
Around thirty alumni if the college attended the fest as well and witnessed the festival which was so close to their heart. It reminded them of the days they would put their blood and sweat to make the festival a grand success.
