IIT Bombay’s E-cell, Asia’s largest entrepreneurship-promoting body, is set to host their 15th E-Summit- a two-day event that brings budding startups, students, investors and entrepreneurs together. E-Summit 2020: A Brio Breakthrough, sets out to champion budding startups and entrepreneurs who’ve refused the routine and achieved breakthroughs. With an electric environment filled with energetic individuals, they aim to accelerate ideas through the stratosphere. Because they know that great ideas are hard to come by! 

This year, E-Summit is scheduled for the first weekend of February, i.e., 1st-2nd February. It is the place where renowned speakers, entrepreneurs & the entire startup ecosystem of India will converge. The previous editions of E-Summit have been graced by eminent personalities like Uber CEO Travis Kalanick, Former Chairman of SBI Arundhati Bhattacharya, Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, patriarch of the Hiranandani clan, VP of Netflix Michael Spiegelman, India TV Chairman Rajat Sharma, among the few renowned names. 

Everyone has something to take away at E-Summit, here we go with what E-Summit 2020 has to offer: The eminent speakers who will be delivering talks on a multitude of topics this E-Summit include, Wipro Chairman Rishad Premji, Filmmaker & producer Anurag Kashyap, India Head of Twitter Manish Maheshwari and CEO of Lenovo Rahul Agarwal to name a few. In addition to this elite list of personalities, one of the prominent speakers this E Summit is Mr. Nitin Saluja, IIT-Bombay alumni and CEO of one of its kind chai cafe, Chayoos. Last but not least, you get a chance to see the CEOs of some of the best performing startups in India like Snapdeal, Jabong, Gaana and much more. 

It presents Business, R&D and Innovation Conclaves with the aim of bringing researchers, pioneers and innovators in different fields together and opportunities to learn from the best in each field. With Dutta Satadip- the Global Head of Operations of Pinterest, Kaushik Basu- a former Chief Economist at the World Bank, Pankaj Asthaana- the Vice President of Mastercard and Bharat Desai – co-founder and CEO of Syntel, these are bound to be interesting sessions! 

In the premiere edition of the RnD Conclave, we already have Prof. Sebastian Peter, Co-Founder, Breathed Applied Sciences & Prof. Ramakrishnan Angarai, Co-Founder, RaGaVeRa Indic Technologies here to demonstrate their research. The aim of the event is the commercialisation of research, & how RnD drives the transformation and growth of large companies. 

Their Start-up Expo is a great platform for start-ups to showcase themselves and connect with customers, industries, professionals, businessmen and investors while also getting 360-degree feedback. 

Another major highlight is ‘The Ten minute million Challenge’. The shortlisted startups will get a chance to make a 10-minute pitch in front of a panel of India’s best angel investors, which will be followed by an on-the-spot decision on financial backing; the unique feature here is that all the selected startups have a chance to secure backing of Rs 16 lakh each. 

In its flagship edition, Seed Stars is already seeing a massive response. Up for grabs is a round of significant venture capital funding, to scale the product across different markets and further optimize user base and product offerings. It provides you with an opportunity to pitch to a renowned panel of investors and negotiate to accelerate and grow your business. 

The Internship and Job Fair at the E-Summit aims at connecting startup enthusiast graduates and undergraduates to the startups so that they get the relevant experience in their desired field. 

This year’s edition also has interesting workshops and challenging hackathons that will keep enthusiastic coders on their toes.
