Editor’s Note – March 2016

Just having ridden the Make in India Week euphoria I think we ought to share some of the highlights for all those who could not make it. The pavilions, conferences and forums were very curated and organized. All the sectors like Aerospace, Defense and Navy by the Indian Government were well represented. It was the perfect platform for handicrafts, FMCG companies, Auto companies and other top Indian brands.

DC launched an exclusive Make in India sports car called Avanti. There were solar powered and intelligent garbage systems, an extension for the Swatch Bharat campaign which is a must on each street corner. The first Indian industrial robot BRABO was showcased by Tata. The underlying reason behind this major initiative was to focus on job creation and skill enhancement. The initiative also aims at high quality standards and minimizing the impact on the environment. I can say that never have I been more proud of my country and that we are not far from becoming a super power soon with this attitude and enthusiasm.
We are back in March the time for publishing our undergraduate rankings so we bring you the Global University Ranking of 2016. Four years into the ranking survey what is noticeable is that most top schools retain their position and few schools have even managed to move ranks up with the positive changes they implement in their curriculum, managing student recruitment and diversity of programs available. So it is extremely vital for universities and schools to keep themselves updated and not just rely on their laurels. I hope this endeavor helps you make the right decision.

Being exam time we thought some tips on preparing for your exams will help you get through the grind. So wishing you all the best in your exams. – Nitish Shah
