Parth Dwivedhi From Rajasthan Tops JEE Main Along With Nine Others

In the recent Joint Entrance Exam (JEE main) 2020 examination, a total of nine have excelled by scoring 100 percentile. One of them, Parth Dwivedhi from Rajasthan however, unlike his peers, wishes to pursue higher education from India itself instead of flying abroad to study. He now wishes to study Computer Science from IIT Bombay.

The media reported that this JEE Main topper aims to work as a civil servant or a researcher in the future and contribute to the nation’s development. Parth states that his inspiration to serve the country comes from his parents. He mentions that he has grown up seeing his mother, Neeti Dwivedi, an additional SP in Lucknow Police, work tirelessly, selflessly and dedicatedly for the nation and its people. The 17-year old topper’s father too is an Indian Railway Service (IRAS) officer.

While preparing for this entrance exam, Parth made sure he followed the guidance provided to him by his teachers and accordingly studied. Now he is all set to prepare for his JEE Advanced which is tests students’ concept, speed and accuracy. Parth plans to study for JEE Advanced alongside his boards.

The result of JEE Main was announced on 17th January 2020 by the HRD Ministry’s National Testing Agency. A total of nine students topped the examination from across the country. Their names are as follows- Nishant Agarwal (Delhi), Nisarg Chadha (Gujarat), Divyanshu Agarwal (Haryana), Landa Jitendra (Andhra Pradesh), Thadavarthi Vishnu Sri Sai Sankar (Andhra Pradesh), Akhil Jain (Rajasthan), Parth Dwivedhi (Rajasthan), Rongala Arun Siddardha (Telangana), and Chagari Koushal Kumar Reddy (Telangana). 

A total of  8.69 lakh students appeared for this engineering exam out of which 6.04 lakh were male students, 2.64 lakh female and three transgender students. The JEE Mains is conducted for all those who wish to enter the engineering field and JEE Advanced is conducted for those who wish to apply for IIT institutes. In order to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced, clearing the JEE Mains is mandatory.
