CBSE Board Exam 2024, Major Changes: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced a few changes to this year’s board exam pattern. Be it the removal of division, distinction or the Accountancy answer books, the changes have been made keeping in mind the feedback received by stakeholders.

No answer books in Accountancy
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to eliminate the use of answer books with tables on the subject of Accountancy. This decision will be effective from the Board Examination in 2024 The official notification clarifies that, based on this input, CBSE has opted to discontinue the Answer Books that included tables in the Accountancy subject. Henceforth, starting from Examinations-2024, students will be provided with normal lines Answer Books, aligning with the standard practice in other subjects for Class 12. This will help the examination process on the overall experience and understanding for students taking the Accountancy exam.
No announcement of overall division, distinction or aggregate
CBSE has announced that the Board will not award any overall division, distinction or aggregate to the students appearing for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams in 2024. The Board announced it after it received requests from multiple candidates to intimate the criteria for calculating the percentage of students. The board will neither calculate nor declare and inform the percentage of marks.
Special arrangements for students participating in sports events, Olympiad
CBSE has announced that for students participating in national or international sports events and international Olympiads who might not be able to take the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 exams, the board will conduct special exams at a later date. However, no separate or special CBSE 2024 examination opportunity will be available for the compartment and practical exams. The decision has been taken to promote sports and other educational competitions among the youth.
To avail of this, candidates should remember that the sport they participate in must be recognised by the Sports Authority of India (SAI), the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) and the Olympiad recognised by the Homi Bhabha Center for Science Education (HBCSE).
Sample question papers, marking scheme released
A total of 60 sample question papers have been released for Class 10 and 77 for Class 12. Students can check the same on the official website. The answers are available in the marking scheme along with marks for each answer.
