This Bengal teenager is a role model for all. Prayas Ray Barman has been the talk of the town as the young lad has been managing his class 12 CBSE exams as he is simultaneously crowned the youngest IPL debutant. Part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), the leg spinner appeared for his Economics Paper on Sunday, as he studied commerce at Kalyani Public School.
The opening pair of Warner and Bairstow made 185 runs for the first wicket, which was the highest in the history of the event. This made a big dent to the RCB. The 16-year-old may not have passed the RCB test as he conceded 0/56 runs from his four overs, he can find comfort in the fact that the team failed as a whole against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Last year, the title of the youngest player in the IPL 2018 season was given to Afghanistan spinner Mujeeb-ur-Rahman at 17 years old, playing for Kings XI Punjab.
After a loss against the Rajasthan Royals, Prayas was back again in Kolkata for his Entrepreneurship exam on April 4th. RCB next play Kolkata Knight Riders on the 5th of April, where they will be joined by Prayas on the eve of their match.
With solid support from the team, Prayas has been managing both his priorities as best as he can. He has been getting a lot of encouragement from his Captain Virat Kohli who is also his role model, AB de Villiers, and Coach Gary Kirsten, building on the potential they clearly see. Even though his name on the line-up was completely unexpected, the confident teenager wasn’t nervous at all.
