Woman biker returns home after riding solo across the nation

Sana Iqbal, a woman bike rider began her journey on November 23rd and travelled across the nation conducting seminars in several universities about how to overcome depression. She returned back to her hometown Hyderabad on Sunday completing her successful mission. This goes to show that nothing is impossible, we can do all things when we trust and believe in ourselves.

The young and fearless, Sana Iqbal suffered from depression herself and wanted to spread positivity and was on an anti-suicide message spreading the message Life is worth living. People cheered the young mother after she returned home. “It’s is a wonderful feeling and I have covered 38,000 kilometers in India, all the states and union territories. So it’s a fantastic experience. Wherever I went, I met a lot of people who were very helpful, who really wanted to do something for the betterment of the society. I mean, I just came across a lot of positivity wherever I went,” she said.

During her tour around the nation, Iqbal conducted seminars in several universities on how to combat depression. She has been counselling patients with depression. “There are two options: one is we discuss an issue but don’t do anything constructive, only keep pointing out the negatives. The second option is when people choose to correct the wrongs. So that’s what I thought, I love riding, I was interested in it. I thought that if I ride and someone is benefits because of it, then why not,” she added.

Suicide is on the rise with billions of people in India taking away their life because they are left alone to deal with their depression and fears. According to the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), 15 people in India committed suicide every hour in the year 2014. More than 800,000 people each year worldwide commit suicide and around one person every 40 seconds according to World Health Organization (WHO) statistics released in September 2014.
