TV Battle: Needless Teenage Dramas
TWISTED
Murder. Jail. Release. One boy (the murderer) and two girls (his “best friends”– with benefits maybe). Justification for murder and a shady father. The benevolence of this show to originality (or not), a nail-biting mystery (again, or not) and the mirrored ‘s’ in its title make it perfect for staring at hot people and analysing their messed up lives.
Why watch it (if you must): For Avan Jogia, the actor who plays the so-hot-but-so-wrong murderer.

THE OC
Highlighting the different worlds money creates, The OC is good in every episode only on an extremely minimalistic level. Beyond that, don’t worry, you have your usual relationship drama and identity crises lined up. And of course, people who look too good to be true (seriously, Mischa Barton needs to eat a cheesy, gooey pizza).
Why watch it (if you must): It might actually help you as a stuck-up rich brat to sympathise with other (as in, poor) people.

THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER
With pregnancies, marriages and everything except career goals on their mind, it’s a surprise these teenagers have gotten themselves into college. Although it does humanise and support teenage pregnancies, it is rife with silly relationships and break-ups.
Why watch it (if you must): Most of its actors can actually act, and well. If dramas are your thing, you’ll be engrossed.
