The Tavern, Bangalore

“There is nothing which has been yet contrived by man, by which so much happiness is produced as by a good tavern or inn,” says Dr Johnson (18th century English author). After visiting the Tavern at the Museum Inn, I can certainly vouch for that. This has fast become my favourite pub in the city. In the low-ceilinged hall with golden, dim lighting, the first thing that you notice is the long bar counter. I strongly recommend sitting at the bar counter and picking up a few interesting stories from the friendly bartenders. However, if you can make it between 5 pm and 8 pm, you can get a 30 per cent Happy Hour discount. The starters are the cherry on the cake at Tavern, and my favourite is the American Corn Chilly Pepper. A pitcher of beer or a cocktail costs about `400. An evening at Tavern should set you back by about `600 to `800. – ARPAN DHANDHANIA
