AUSTRALIA AND THE INDIAN STUDENT
In early 2009, Australia was the most popular country for Indian students choosing to study abroad with over 1,20,000 enrolling for programmes across Australia. However, after reported racist attacks against Indians later in the year, the number of students visiting Australia has dropped with every passing year. Just over 20,000 Indian students attended courses in Australia last year.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN THE UK
The United Kingdom is known to have a student-friendly culture and a good standard when it comes to quality of education. However, the changes in policies for international students have resulted in a drop in the number of international applicants. The UK has witnessed a 46% drop in student visas in 2013. The number of international students in UK dropped from around 2,42,000 in 2011 to 1,53,000 in 2012.
