Imagine an event where there are not just universities helping you to make the right career choice, but also workshops and seminars conducted by intellectuals from varied professions giving insightful information about those professions, all under one roof. What more can a young individual, trying to make a career choice ask for?
The Edutainment Show, a show organized by Events Capital and Times of India group, is a fabulous initiative that provides a unique platform of interaction among education service providers and aspiring youth with the aim of helping the youth find the right career direction and also help make an informed career choice.
The show is purely dedicated to offering career guidance in the fields of Mass Media, Communication, and Design. 2019 being its 7th edition, The Edutainment Show just keeps expanding and growing at an impressive level every year. This year the event was organized on the 3rd and 4th of May, 2019 at Sahara Star, Mumbai.
A total of 100 speakers, 50 exhibitors and hundreds of aspiring young individuals participated in the show. In addition to this, 20 workshops were also conducted.
The Media industry is progressing and expanding exponentially. However, the knowledge to pursue the right kind of education in order to opt for a career in this industry is scanty. Attending the Edutainment Show has surely helped those pursuing a career in media, gain clarity about various fields that fall within the boundaries of media.
To justify the above statement, it is crucial to mention that the two-day event invited well-known personalities, doing exceedingly well in their respective area of expertise and reputed educational institutes known for providing specialized and quality courses.
Personalities like RJ Malishka, a radio jockey at Red Fm spoke about Radio Jockey as a career, Terrence Lewis, a celebrity choreographer and a successful entrepreneur spoke about what it takes to be an entrepreneur, Anupama Chopra, a film critic and director of the MAMI film festival, shared interesting insights of the Indian film industry, Aashish Chachlani, a Youtuber with millions of subscribers, spoke about content creation on YouTube. Other popular celebrities too gave insights into their professions to help students get a gist of the fields.
Professionals like Bharat Dabholkar, Ad guru and theatre personality gave an overview of what it takes to choose Advertising as a career, Shaina NC, a fashion designer and a politician spoke of fashion designing as a career, Anurag Batra, chairman and editor of Business World magazine, spoke about the changing landscape in media career, and Sandeep Ramesh, industry head-Media & Entertainment at Google, threw light on career opportunities in Google age.
Apart from these, panel discussions were also held that took into account fields like Corporate Communication and Public Relations, Design Studies, making Sports a viable career, Content Curation and Web Series, growth of Digital Marketing, Blogging, etc.
Around 50 education service providers participated in the show and provided detailed guidance on the careers and courses aspiring students can take. Some of the institutes include MET institute of mass media, ISDI, DJ Academy of Design, Whistling Woods International, IIDE, etc.
With all the stakeholders bundled together, the 7th edition of the Edutainment Show garnered active and full-circle participation, making the event an absolute hit.
