TETR College Of Business Bridges The Academia And Industry Gap

The education system is transforming to the next level from stepping out of traditional learning to remote or hybrid and now there is something new for the students. TETR College of Business founded by Partham Mittal began a new management curriculum that goes beyond conventional learning by sending its students to seven countries to build businesses as part of the course isn’t it interesting? This includes the four-year bachelor’s programme in management and technology, with the first batch of around 120 students, half from developed countries and half from developing nations.

Mittal, an alumnus of Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, said the new curriculum is structured around four key tenets — values, exposure, experiences and skills as the students will stay in each country for four to five months. “We have to give a real-world target to our students. If they can do that, the motivation comes within. We want to provide hands-on experience to run business,” Mittal told PTI.

“The students will learn business by building businesses as part of their eight semesters. They will stay in each country for four to five months and use campuses of partnered institutes for business bureau education in these countries,” he added.

Process to qualify

The B school will have the top SAT scorers (top 1 percentile) and those who have turned down offers from prestigious universities. The council will examine each candidate, considering their extracurricular activities and other ventures to ensure a well-rounded student body.

Further, candidates must take the ‘Tetr Trial’, a gamified assessment where skills like multitasking, resource management, people skills, moral and ethical responsibilities, etc. are tested through games and cases. There will be a 45-minute exam comprising four sections: Critical Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, Reading Comprehension, Gamified Tests and an AI-Powered Video Interview.

During the Tetr Trial, candidates will encounter exciting challenges to showcase their skills. This includes: 5 Critical Reasoning questions to be completed in 10 minutes; 10 Quantitative questions to be answered within 20 minutes; 2 Gamified tests to be completed in 10 minutes; 1 Reading Comprehension passage to be read and answered in 4 minutes; and 1 AI-powered video interview where you will be given a topic to discuss for 2 minutes.

Bridging the Gap Between Academia and Industry

Tetr College of Business operates with the philosophy of “learn business by doing business.” It fulfils the gap from graduation till you start something on your own. The program immerses students in real-world business scenarios, more practicality allowing them to study and work across countries like Dubai, the United States, Singapore, and Italy every semester, students engage with different business models, from dropshipping and tech startups to sustainable projects and luxury branding. This innovative approach combines cultural insights with entrepreneurial challenges, equipping students with a global perspective and practical skills. Unlike traditional grading systems, Tetr evaluates students based on metrics like revenue, profit margins, and net promoter scores ensuring that learning outcomes are directly tied to entrepreneurial success.

Addressing Protectionism with Global Mobility

Mittal’s vision is beyond education recognizing the challenges created by restrictive work visa policies in countries like the United States, Tetr offers a global education model. Students gain experience in multiple geographies, reducing dependence on any single country. Partnerships with top institutions such as SDA Bocconi, NUS Singapore, and IIT India further solidify Tetr’s commitment to creating global citizens.

A Day in the Life of a Tetr Student

Students start their journey in Dubai, where days begin early with classes at 7:45 a.m. The curriculum blends structured learning with hands-on entrepreneurial experiences. For instance, the first semester focuses on drop shipping, where students form teams, build businesses, and achieve sales targets exceeding $17,000.

Each semester introduces a new business model—creating a YouTube content business, launching a Kickstarter campaign, and building a blockchain protocol, among others. The program emphasizes risk-taking, adaptability, and the practical application of classroom concepts, fostering confidence and entrepreneurial spirit. Learning continues outside the class hours, as students collaborate on projects and refine their business models in an integrated environment.

Empowering Student Entrepreneurs

Tetr’s $10 million “Under 20” fund, led by industry stalwarts like Manoj Kohli (ex-SoftBank India) and Dr. Edward Rogers (former Chief Knowledge Officer at NASA), provides students with unparalleled mentorship and funding opportunities. Visiting faculty from Harvard, Wharton, and other top institutions bring global perspectives, while industry leaders guide students through real-world challenges.

A standout success story is Tafflo, a drop shipping business launched by six students from diverse countries. Despite early setbacks, including banned Facebook ads and slow sales, the team pivoted quickly and secured a $5,000 grant from Tetr’s fund. Tafflo’s revenue has now surpassed $20,000, with projections to reach $100,000.

The Future of Business

The evolution of education is no longer a distant idea; it’s happening now. Future-ready universities like Tetr are changing the landscape by encouraging global collaboration, integrating cutting-edge technology, and nurturing a culture of the real-world impact their students are creative, resourceful, and driven and aren’t waiting for permission to innovate they participate in leading, shaping, and redefining what it means to be a global entrepreneur in a world that needs visionary leaders more than ever.

Mittal envisions Tetr students redeveloping industries like AI, sustainability, and healthcare. “The true game-changers will merge seemingly unrelated ideas to create solutions no one has thought of yet,” he says. From circular economies to decentralized healthcare, Tetr is nurturing leaders poised to transform the future.
