The singer came back on Sunday night to share her heart and that won over the most cynical heartstrings! Gomez spoke about how she is really thankful to her fans and doesn’t seek validation from anyone which was a great message for the youth!
“I had to stop,” she said. “I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside.”
“I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down.”
“If you are broken you do not have to stay broken,” she added after thanking her fans. “If that’s anything whether you respect me or not that’s one thing you should know about me. I care about people.”
Cameras captured Lady Gaga being moved by the speech and so were many others amongst the audience!
The singer captioned a photo of her and Gomez by saying, “So dope I got to hang with the biggest rockstar of the night. (Ya,know besides Sting and Green Day) …the girl with the biggest prize of all a BIG Heart that she shares with the world.”
In August, Gomez announced that she was taking time off to focus on her health and Lupus diagnosis. During that while, she had discovered that anxiety, depression and panic attacks were a part of the disease she was going through.
Putting her hand on her heart, she said that’s what she wanted to see on social media — what was on people’s insides, not pictures of their outsides. She thanked her fans for their loyalty and said she didn’t know what she did to deserve them.
“But,” she added, “if you are broken, you do not have to stay broken. That’s one thing you should know about me: I care about people. And this is for you.”
