CUISINE: Chinese
FOOD AND DRINKS: Specialising in steamed goodies, Royal China offers a wide variety of dim sums and dumplings. The most critically acclaimed of these is the chicken and shrimp siu mai – a steamed dim sum enveloped delicately in an egg-flour wrapping topped with salmon roe. Its famous crispy aromatic duck, with either a half or full portion of crisp, crackling duck, shredded to bite sized bits and served with pancakes, plum sauce and fresh vegetables is to die for. Sample mains like the fortune rice, chicken with Sha Che sauce served in a clay pot, and the lip smacking Cantonese honey roasted pork.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: From fabulously chic and modern interiors with a splash of ancient Chinese elements, you will realise the treat you are in for as you walk in. The well-trained and extremely polite staff will guide you not only to your table but will act like culinary advisors throughout the meal.
